Find the right sensors for your application

Opsens Solutions' highly accurate and repeatable single-point fibre optic temperature sensors offer unrivalled performance for a wide range of applications.

Opsens OTG sensors
The OTG series sensors were developed for applications that require very focussed temperature monitoring and very short measurement times.
The sensors are based on gallium arsenide SCBG (semiconductor bandgap) technology and are among the smallest optical sensors on the market with an outer diameter of 0.12 mm and a response time of less than 10 ms. With an accuracy of ± 0.3°C and a resolution of 0.01°C. The OTG series with plug-and-play capabilities offers high accuracy and resolution for all applications requiring long-term reliability and stability.

Opsens OTP sensors
The OTP series sensors have been developed for applications that require simultaneous monitoring of temperature and other parameters with a readout device. In addition, they are suitable for electromagnetic interference with strong fields of over 3 Tesla, MR environment and microwave applications.

The sensors are based on WLPI (White Light Interferometry) technology, are extremely robust and offer a resolution of 0.01 °C and an excellent accuracy of ± 0.15 °C. By using a monocrystalline birefringent crystal as a temperature transducer, the OTP series shows no thermal creep or ageing and therefore offers long-term reliability.

COMEM sensors
In addition to Opsens, Polytec also offers sensor solutions from the manufacturer COMEM Optocon. Like the Opsens OTG sensors, the COMEM sensors are based on gallium arsenide technology and are also only suitable for use with COMEM readout devices. The sensors are designed for use in environments with microwave radiation and high-frequency interference. They are not only suitable for high-voltage applications, magnetic fields and aggressive industrial environments, but also provide accurate temperature monitoring to protect equipment and installations. The sensors are customisable to meet specific requirements and can be calibrated from -200 °C to +300 °C.

Opsens OTG-I220 & OTG-I360

Very compact with fast response time for power electronics

The sensors are manufactured with industry standard glass fibres and are compatible with all GaAs (SCBG) readout devices from Opsens Solutions. Their small size and fast response time make them ideal for complex instrumentation projects, e.g. power semiconductor devices. In the OTG-I220, the sensor end is in a polyimide tube with an outer diameter of 0.22 mm. For the OTG-I360, there are two models with the sensor end in a glass or stainless steel tube. The outer diameter of both models is 0.36 mm.
An optional design is available for both sensors, the Smart Retractable Design-TT, which protects the sensor head during cable installation and measurement preparation with a thin but robust (telescopic tubing) polyimide tube. This gives the sensor head the necessary rigidity to easily pierce through silicone gel and position the sensor at a defined point on a chip or circuit board. Once the installation is complete, the sensor head is exposed. This additional protection does not restrict the flexibility of the sensor; the cable can still be wrapped around a finger.

Opsens OTG-PM

Fast response time for energy and power electronics

The OTG-PM consists of industry-standard glass fibres and is compatible with all GaAs (SCBG) readout devices from Opsens Solutions. Its small dimensions and fast response time are perfectly tailored to complicated measurement projects, e.g. in the power semiconductor sector.

The miniature sensor head (0.15 x 0.15 mm), protected by a tube (0.22 mm outer diameter), is handled by a clever retractable design: a rigid ceramic tube of 0.64 mm allows easy piercing of the silicone layer for precise sensor positioning. The upper Teflon-coated stainless steel tube is curved to ensure visibility from any angle.

To facilitate mounting and instrumentation, the sensor is equipped with a bracket that allows quick and precise angle adjustment while ensuring the required stability.
