Measure accurately and reduce set-up times and costs at the same time
Radiometry is an essential link in measuring the light output of a UV curing system to ensure a repeatable process. Depending on the requirements within the manufacturing process, two new kits are available for calibrating light output in terms of irradiance (W/cm2) or total power (W).
By combining the OmniCure® LS200 (irradiance) or LS200P (power) sensor with the OmniCure beam positioning kit, complete calibration solutions are available with unrivalled control and repeatability without the need for additional hardware.
Highlights
//- Consistent measurements due to accurate positioning of the beam on the detection sensor
- Reduced calibration time and cost due to easy setup and adjustment
- No expensive and bulky alignment tools required
The ability to accurately measure and calibrate a UV LED spot curing system is a challenge for the UV component manufacturer and is an essential part of controlling a UV curing process. Individual lenses are added to the focussed UV LED light sources with LEDs at the tip of the head to meet the different spot sizes and high irradiance requirements at the curing location. A measuring system that detects the narrow beam in the centre of the detection sensor with the exact focus height is important for measuring the peak irradiance. By combining an accurate radiometer with a precise alignment device, the user is able to accurately and consistently measure peak irradiance every time a measurement is taken in an assembly manufacturing environment.
The beam positioning kit consists of an XY frame and a metal block. The sensor is positioned in the XY frame, which is precisely aligned with the beam centre on the opening of the detection sensor using its adjusting screws. The metal block sets the exact offset height to detect the focal point of the beam. This allows quick and accurate measurement of the peak irradiance without changing the setting for curing and also saves time and increases productivity.
