Connecting fiber optics perfectly
Splicing is the most reliable method for permanently connecting two optical fibers. The splicing devices of the OFS family deliver top-class results, with typical splice losses of 0.02 dB for single-mode and 0.01 dB for multi-mode fibers. The device is compatible with all common fiber types and features a program memory for each type, with 10 presets available. The splicing process is fully automatic and includes a final measurement of splice loss.
Features of the OFS Fusion Splicers:
- Fiber types: SM, MM, DS, NZDS, EDF
- Cladding diameter: 80–150 µm
- Coating diameter: 100–1000 µm
- Fiber alignment: Automatic core centering
