Fiber Bragg Grating sensor with green connector and yellow-black optical fibers for accurate strain measurement.

FBG Sensors

Fiber bragg grating based sensors

Measure strain in any environment

Optical fiber sensors are a better alternative to electrical sensors for many applications. They are characterized by high accuracy, long-term stability, simple, cost-saving installation and first-class performance under harsh environmental conditions. These optical sensors are insensitive to electromagnetic influences (EMI) and extremely resistant to mechanical fatigue.

Here you will find a comprehensive range of sensors for a wide variety of applications.

Fiber Bragg Grating Sensor os1100

The os1100 Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) is designed for use in fiber optic sensing applications. It is a single FBG centered in a two meter length of polyimide coated optical fiber. It may be used individually or can be spliced into an array of many FBGs.

Fiber Bragg  Grating Sensor os1200

The os1200 FBG array (Fiber Bragg Grating) is designed for use in fiber optic sensing applications. It is a six-meter-long PI fiber with five centered FBGs, which are arranged at intervals of one meter.

Optical Strain Gage os3100

The optical strain gage os3100 offers easy handling and fast, repeatable sensor installation. The stainless steel support of the os4100 keeps the FBG under tension and protects the fiber during installation. For temperature compensation, the os3100 can be connected in series with an os4100 or os4350. It is welded on or glued on with epoxy resin. With the same sensitivity and precision, the strain range is significantly larger and the service life is 100 times longer than with foil strain gages.

Optical Strain Gage os3150

The stainless steel bracket of the os3150 is optimized for outdoor installations on steel structures in harsh environments, keeps the FBG under tension and protects the fiber during installation. For temperature compensation, the os3150 can be connected in series with an os4350. Alternatively, the os3155 offers a similar approach including integrated temperature compensation. It can be used alone or in series as a sensor array.

Optical Strain Gage os3155

The os3155 is a robust optical strain gage with integrated temperature compensation. The stainless steel bracket of the os3155 is optimized for outdoor installations on steel structures and keeps the FBG under tension and protects the fiber during the installation. It can be used alone or in series as a sensor array.

Non-metallic Optical Strain Gage os3200

The os3200 has a self-adhesive backing that fixes the sensor body and protects the FBG while epoxy is being injected. The FBG encapsulates the epoxy resin and glues it to the surface of a structure. The installation time is only a few minutes. Measurements can be taken within 24 hours after the epoxy has cured at room temperature.

Embedded Strain Sensor os3500

The embedded strain sensor measures the average strain over the entire length of the sensor and offers integrated temperature compensation. It is only made for embedding in concrete structures. Disc ends form a firm connection to the surrounding concrete or mortar.

Surface Mount Strain Sensor os3510

The surface-mountable strain sensor os3510 measures the average strain over the entire measuring length and offers integrated temperature compensation. It is only intended for surface mounting. Each end of the sensor is attached to the structure via rigid brackets that are either welded, bolted, epoxy-bonded, or grouted with concrete, stone, steel, composites, or other structures.

Emeddable Strain Sensor os3600

The embedded strain sensor measures the average strain over the entire length of the sensor and offers integrated temperature compensation. It is available in 25 or 100 cm sensor lengths and is only made for embedding in concrete structures. Disc ends form a firm connection to the surrounding concrete or mortar. Universal ends allow custom brackets to be attached to reinforcements or other structures before embedding.

Surface Mount Strain Sensor os3610

The surface-mountable strain sensor os3610 measures the average strain over the entire measuring length and at the same time offers integrated temperature compensation. It is available in 25 or 100 cm sensor lengths and is only made for surface mounting. Each end of the sensor is attached to the structure via rigid brackets that are either welded, bolted, epoxy-bonded, or grouted with concrete, stone, steel, composite, or some other structure.
