Polytec Japan Co., Ltd. (Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Tatsuhiko Hirokawa) is pleased to announce that its scanning vibrometer, the VibroScan QTec, has been awarded the “Good Design Award” in the “2025 Good Design Awards” organized by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JIDP). The VibroScan QTec was recognized for its high-performance features—including noise reduction via an internationally patented multipath interferometer, AI-assisted measurement setup, and automatic generation of real-time operation mode animations—all integrated into a simple, compact, and user-friendly product.
Below are the evaluation comments received from the judging panel.
While laser Doppler vibrometers are susceptible to fluctuations in light reflection, this product utilizes a multipath interferometer based on the diversity method to reduce the impact of light intensity fluctuations and stabilize measurement quality. It is capable of measuring surface vibration modes through multi-point scanning. Thanks to its simple configuration—consisting of the vibrometer unit and a notebook PC—along with AI-powered measurement setup assistance and image processing capabilities that automatically generate animations of the vibration state immediately after measurement, users can perform measurements regardless of their technical skill level. We recognized this as an excellent design that successfully integrates advanced technology into a user-friendly product.
