Polytec Guarantee terms and conditions
1. Scope and Guarantee Period
1.1. If a defect occurs within the guarantee period, Polytec will repair or replace the defective device according to the following terms and conditions.
1.2. The Polytec Guarantee applies to the listed “Product groups” which were delivered later than October 1st, 2025.
1.3. The guarantee period is given in the offer or order confirmation.
1.4. The guarantee applies to the hardware manufactured by Polytec (sensor heads and controller).
1.5. The guarantee period commences on the date of delivery to the customer and expires after the given guarantee period. Proof of delivery date is required for all guarantee claims.
1.6. Software updates, and calibrations are not part of the guarantee and may be charged separately.
1.7. The Polytec Guarantee Terms may differ from country to country, please check with your local representative.
2. Conditions for Guarantee Service.
2.1. This extended guarantee must be explicitly confirmed in the purchase order or sales contract at the time of purchase.
2.2. The defect must occur within the guaranteed period.
2.3. Guarantee services may only be performed by the following parties:
a) Polytec GmbH, or
b) qualified service branches authorized by Polytec GmbH.
2.4. Polytec reserves the right to determine the location of the repair.
3. Guarantee Claim Process
3.1. To initiate a guarantee claim, a written notice shall be sent to Polytec GmbH or an authorized branch office of Polytec.
3.2. The customer undertakes to send the defective device in the original packaging or another safe packaging to the service center designated by Polytec at their own expense.
3.3. The customer carries all freight and insurance costs associated with the guaranteed service.
4. Exclusions from Guarantee Service
4.1. The warranty does not cover damage or defects caused by any of the following circumstances:
· External influences, including but not limited to, external force, accidents, weather conditions, or improper transport.
· Willful damage, tampering, vandalism, or other intentional acts.
· Unauthorized repairs or modifications without prior written approval from Polytec.
· Improper use, in particular operation contrary to the instructions or use for unsuitable purposes.
5. Reservation and Adjustment of the Guarantee
5.1. Polytec reserves the right to adjust or withdraw the extended guarantee under the following circumstances:
· Political emergency situations, Export regulations, restrictions, or prohibitions under international trade laws.
· Supply bottlenecks or discontinuation of certain components.
5.2. In such cases, the customer will be informed in a timely manner. Guarantee claims already underway will be reviewed individually.
6. Additional Terms and Conditions
6.1. Guarantor is Polytec GmbH or the Polytec subsidiary, who issued the guarantee.
6.2. This guarantee may be transferred to subsequent owners upon presentation of valid proof of purchase and written notification to Polytec.
7. Legal statements
7.1. All disputes arising from or in connection with the guarantee shall be governed by German law.
7.2. These guaranteed terms are in addition to, and do not limit, any statutory rights that may be available under applicable consumer protection laws. Where local consumer protection laws provide greater protection, such laws shall prevail.
7.3.
POLYTEC is not and shall not be liable or responsible for a customer’s lost profits, incidental damage, or consequential damages.
