Full-field optical vibration measurement in 3D for experimental modal testing
PSV-500-3D are Polytec 3D Scanning Vibrometers (PSV-3D), enabling high performance and high precision vibration measurement in research and product development. The deflection shapes and Eigen modes detected help engineers stuying NVH, acoustics and structural dynamics or even ultrasonic analysis, but also finite element validation (FEM) and non-destructive testing (NDT).
The PSV-500-3D precisely analysis acoustics, dynamics and vibrational behaviour of sample structures. PSV-3D conduct full-field measurements without contact and without mass-loading for comprehensive analysis e.g. detecting crosstalk between sensor elements, propagation of surface waves in non-destructive testing or the development of integrated sensor networks for composite materials. PSV-500-3D uses the measurement data in both the time domain and the frequency domain to supply test engineers with meaningful visualizations, images and animated deflection shapes.
Model validation based on operational deflection shapes
Since in-plane data and out-of-plane vibration measurement data are gathered simultaneously, the PSV-500-3D allows for conducting operational deflection shape analysis and for validating finite element simulation models (FEM validation). The PSV-500-3D covers the measurement of frequencies from DC to 25 MHz with vibrational velocities of 0.01 µm/s up to 30 m/s fast vibrational motions.
Whenever demands change, the PSV-500-3D can easily be upgraded with the XTRA laser technology, enabling large stand-off distances and gathering the clearest data with low noise. Also the 3D Scanning Vibrometer can be expanded to a fully automatic RoboVib® measuring station.
