The air stream in wind tunnels leads to a distorted view caused by this so-called shear layer. For accurately visualizing sound sources, it is necessary to correct these distortions. Integrated in the wind tunnel module of NoiseImage, the shear layer correction guarantees visualization of sound sources with the correct level and location. Furthermore, wind speed and angle information can be acounted for. This module and the associated hardware is the state-of-the-art in aeroacoustics.
