With entrepreneurial courage, remarkable foresight, and genuine care for people, she played a defining role in shaping Polytec from the very beginning.

Waldbronn, July 17, 2026 – Polytec GmbH mourns the loss of its co-founder, Liselotte Lossau. Together with her husband, Heinz G. Lossau, she founded the company in 1967, laying the foundation for what has grown into today's internationally operating Polytec Group. She passed away at the age of 93.

The Foundation for Polytec's Success

With her business expertise and exceptional organizational skills, Liselotte Lossau established the organizational and commercial foundations that enabled Polytec to grow successfully over the decades. For many years, she was responsible for finance, marketing, human resources, customs, and later IT, oversaw construction projects, and was instrumental in modernizing the company's internal organization early on.

She was far more than a successful entrepreneur. Anyone who met Liselotte Lossau encountered a humble and approachable person who treated others with respect, genuine interest, and sincere appreciation. She cared deeply about Polytec's employees and remained in close contact with many of them for decades after her retirement.

"Liselotte Lossau was an intelligent, humble, and exceptionally capable individual," says Dr. Alexander Huber, CEO of Polytec. "She not only helped build Polytec but also instilled values that continue to define our company today. She had a rare gift for combining entrepreneurial vision with genuine care for people. Her legacy will forever remain an integral part of Polytec's history."

A Commitment That Extended Far Beyond Polytec

Even after stepping back from day-to-day operations, Liselotte Lossau remained closely connected to Polytec as a shareholder and continued to follow the company's development with great interest well into old age. Beyond her commitment to the company, she dedicated many years to hospice care in the Karlsruhe region. In recognition of her extraordinary volunteer service, she was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2020.

"I had the great privilege of knowing Liselotte Lossau personally for many years," says Alfred Link, CFO of Polytec. "I was always impressed by her business acumen, her down-to-earth nature, and her genuine interest in people. She naturally took responsibility wherever it was needed while always remaining true to herself. For that, I will always be grateful to her."

A Lasting Legacy

With the passing of Liselotte Lossau, Polytec has lost its co-founder and a remarkable individual who played a defining role in shaping the company over many decades. Her life's work will continue to have a lasting impact far beyond her active years. Our thoughts are with her family and all those who were close to her.
