PROCESS spectrometer for multichannel operation with 9 sensor heads

Polytec, a manufacturer of process spectrometer systems, now offers multichannel operation for all of its NIR and SWIR spectrometers.

The multiplexers offer between 2 and 9 channels, permitting an equal number of sensor heads at freely selectable points in the process, which are then controlled by one spectrometer. Probes may be of any type, distance and contact sensor heads as well as immersion probes may be freely selected and individually analysed. Systems can be flexibly integrated, and as a result of industrial layouts the integration can withstand rough ambient conditions.

The Polytec PSS systems are diode array spectrometers with innovative transmission grating for high sensitivity, particularly short measuring times and a very low proportion of stray light. They have a spectral resolution of up to 3.2 nm. The systems are available in versions for different near-infrared spectral ranges between 850 and 2200 nm. Comprehensive software is available for device control, data analysis and for reporting, as well as for the real time automated process control. This also includes interfaces for numerous commercially available chemometrics software packages. Preferred application areas for the PSS systems include measurement of the moisture, protein and fat content, analysis of the product yield and quality control in the agricultural, feed and food industries as well as in the chemicals industry and plastics manufacturing.
