EU-Project 3PEAT brings 3D photonic integration in remote sensing and ranging application

Polytec participates in the innovative EU-Horizon-2020 research project 3PEAT.

Polytec participates in the innovative EU-Horizon-2020 research project 3PEAT. Major goal of the joint project is the development of a new kind of 3D photonic platform combining low optical losses with high integration density enabling future LDV remote sensing applications and optical switching technology for telecommunications. Polytec contributes in the definition of system designs and is responsible for the evaluation of LDV demo systems under application environments.

The 3PEAT consortium of six companies (Optagon Photonics, LioniX, SolMateS, Cordon Electronic Italia, Mellanox and Polytec) and three research institutes (ICCS-NTUA, Fraunhofer HHI, Univ. Twente) started research activities in the beginning of January 2018. The framework programme Horizon 2020 is implemented by the European Commission, the executive body of the European Union. It is funding research, technological development, and innovation, and will run until 2020.
