Laser Diode Modules

Polytec Diode Laser Modules are used in a variety of industrial and handicraft fields for positioning and measurement.

The laser output is available as pointing beam (spot) or laser line, in different output power levels and with different wavelengths. Some models are focusable for alternating distances. Various designs (waterproofed, different outside diameters) are available for all kind of applications.

PDL-VAR Series

The PDL-VAR laser modules are modular components which make the switching between a pointing laser beam and line laser simple. Through their flexibility, these lasers may be used in nearly all conceivable pointing and alignment applications. The features include:

  • CW-mode and modulated operation possible

PDL-LDC Series

The PDL-LDC laser is a low-cost and compact module which generates a small, sharp line. The laser has a very good depth of focus and generates a narrow line at distances between 0.2 m and 3 m with an optimum at 0.5 m. For OEMs the distance for minimum line width may be tailored to the customer's needs. With adequate fixtures these lasers may be aligned in 2 and 3 dimensions.

PDL-KRF Series

The PDL-KRF Series may be focused freely between 0.5 m and infinity. A narrow and brilliant laser line is generated at varying distances. In particular on poorly reflecting materials such as tires, this laser module works very well and the laser line is clearly visible.

The PDL-KRF laser modules are built into a rugged housing and utilize an industrial-type connector at the housing. They are the ideal modules in tough environments.

PDL-KRC Series

These cross-line lasers generate two lines that form a cross beginning at a distance of 0.5 m from the laser module.

PDL-FGL Series

These fiber-coupled lasers generate an ideal TEM00 mode. In addition, the electrical components and the optical output are separated. The lasers may be supplied with a collimator lens or with a fiber pig-tail output.
